Absurd City is a sprawling world of strange shops, hidden rooms and questionable promises at London’s Westfield.

As part of the writing team, I contributed to the project’s scripting, helping develop key characters and plot points within its wider narrative, led by Narrative and Experience Design Lead Rob Morgan.

With creative direction from Anya Tye and Summer Dean, the experience unfolds across five distinct districts. Visitors become ‘daytrippers’, exploring interactive installations and hidden encounters in a city where consumerism runs wild and the power keeps cutting out. Playful absurdity meets pointed satire about consumer culture and the climate crisis—giving daytrippers a few more reasons to suspect that everything might not be entirely fine.
